DENVER — Authorities say a 36-year-old father has been charged after his car was towed in Denver with his sleeping baby inside.

Police say Thomas Benton illegally parked near the intersection of Corona Street and Colfax Avenue on Saturday to drop a friend off at a home. Benton says he went inside the home for about 10 minutes, and when he came back outside, his car was gone.

KUSA-TV reports (http://on9news.tv/1gc5QIR ) the 1-year-old child was found in the car at the impound lot, and Benton has been charged with "wrongs to minors."
