Denver airport’s therapy dog program gets its first cat

Denver International Airport’s therapy dog program –code name CATS— is getting its first genuine feline. And she looks adorable.

Meet Xeli. The 12-pound ball of domestic short-haired fuzz will be the first non-dog to join the volunteer ranks of the 3-year-old Canine Airport Therapy Squad program, cheekily abbreviated CATS. The program is designed to help relieve traveler stress and anxiety.

Xeli (pronounced Zell-ee) was introduced to the public Friday during a meet-and-greet in the great hall of the main Jeppesen Terminal building. 

The meet-and-greet was broadcast live on the airport’s Facebook page.
