I am 28 and would love to be married and have a family. I have had two relationships that lasted about two years each, and I chose to end both. I am starting to wonder what is wrong with me and if the man I want to meet even exists. My friends tell me I am too picky, but I cannot settle for someone I know is not right for me. I do not want to meet men online. Do you work with people who do not live in Colorado Springs? - Unlucky in Love
If you do not believe the man you want to meet exists, you never will find him. You have only two bases of comparison as far as relationships are concerned, and most likely the only thing wrong was they were not the right men for you. I believe there is someone for everyone and, while the majority of my clients are in Colorado Springs, I have clients from La Junta to Denver. In "The Motown Song," Rod Stewart sings, "You know what luck is? Luck is believing you're lucky, that's all, and showing just a little bit of faith." Think positive and remember that it only takes one right one.
I am going to buy my girlfriend an engagement ring for Christmas and my sister tells me I should spend at least two months' salary. Is this what most women expect? - Dave
Your sister is spot-on. If you are paid hourly, take your wage and multiply by 2,080 to get your annual salary. Then, divide that number by 6. If you make $20 per hour, then your annual salary is $41,600. Divide $41,600 by 6 to get $6,933, which is equivalent to two months' salary. That amount is enough to purchase a quality, 1 carat diamond engagement ring with setting. Congratulations on your engagement.
