The man who died after being hit by a truck while chasing his dog Saturday was Sean O'Grady, 51, the El Paso County Coroner's Office reported.

The truck struck O'Grady about 3:45 p.m. in the 4300 block of Loomis Avenue in the county's Stratmoor Hills area south of Colorado Springs, the Colorado State Patrol said.

O'Grady had been loading a truck when he went to grab a dog that had run into the street, witnesses told Gazette news partner KKTV.
