NEW YORK (AP) — Construction is temporarily halting AirTrain service at Kennedy Airport.

The Port Authority plans a full system shutdown from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday.

There also will be partial overnight stoppages from 9 p.m. to noon each day next week. Those will affect service between the airport's Federal Circle stop and the central terminal area.

The Port Authority says it will offer free shuttle buses in place of trains.

It will have extra staff on duty to provide information.
