Colorado Springs woman threatened at gunpoint while taking out the trash

Police say a woman was threatened at gunpoint by three men when she was taking the trash out at her northeast Colorado Springs home Thursday morning.

The victim was placing garbage cans at the curb of her home about 6:50 a.m. on the 6800 block of Bartlet Court, off Stetson Hills Boulevard, when three men jumped out of an old red pickup truck, police said.

One of the men was armed with a handgun, Lt. Catherine Buckley said.

The men then forced her back into her house and reportedly stole several items, loading them up in the truck and fleeing afterwards.

The truck was last seen traveling westbound on Ansel Drive, police said.

There were no injuries reported.

If the three men are caught, they could face first-degree burglary charges, Buckley said.
