A Colorado Springs woman who died in a car crash near Mueller State Park in Teller County on Saturday has been identified as 50-year-old Sherry Carias.

Carias was not wearing a seatbelt during the time of the crash, which occurred near mile marker 66 on Highway 67, according to Colorado State Patrol.

Carias was ejected from her 1998 Ford Explorer after her vehicle went off the side of the road. The vehicle ran into a barbed wire fence and rolled twice after Carias rounded a curve while traveling at a high rate of speed.

Speed is the contributing factor to the crash, according to the State Patrol.
