Colorado Springs Utilities has hired a new chief planning and finance officer, CEO Jerry Forte announced Tuesday.
Tamela Monroe is expected to begin work Jan. 29, says a news release from Utilities. Monroe now is senior director of business analysis and pricing at the Omaha Public Power District.
She will replace Bill Cherrier, who left in September to become CEO of the Central Iowa Power Cooperative.
With more than 30 years of utilities experience, Monroe is familiar with closing old coal plants, working with regional transmission organizations and economic development, the release said. She has a master's degree in business administration from Creighton University and a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from Northwest Missouri State University.
