Colorado Springs to warm up early this week, followed by chance for rain and snow

The National Weather Service office in Pueblo is forecasting a warm start to the week with the possibility for snow on Thursday.

The high temperature for Colorado Springs Monday is predicted to be 40 degrees with an east northeast wind blowing 6 to 15 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon with gusts as high as 23 mph.

The low for Monday night is expected to be 20 degrees with a southeast wind blowing 5 to 9 mph, then tapering off in the evening.

The forecast for Tuesday is much warmer with a high temperature of 52 degrees and a low temperature of 26 degrees Tuesday night. The warmth jumps to a high temperature of 59 degrees Wednesday and a low temperature of 28 degrees Wednesday night.

The weather service is calling for chances of rain and snow on Thursday with showers in the morning turning into snow during the afternoon. The forecast high temperature for Thursday in Colorado Springs is 49 degrees.
