Colorado Springs Switchbacks forward Kevaughn Frater was named as the United Soccer League player of the week after scoring both goals in a 2-1 road win over the LA Galaxy II last weekend.
He scored the game-winner in the 90th minute to help the 5-4-5 Switchbacks, which are idle until June 21, move into third place in the Western Conference.
Frater received 45 percent of the poll conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Reno’s Dane Kelly finished second with 27 percent.
Frater's award is the first player of the week honor this season for the Switchbacks, and the third in a row making the USL weekly team (Jordan Burt, Rony Argueta). It is the fourth league honor this season with forward Masta Kacher recognized earlier.
