The Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Pacific Coast League have announced that Sky Sox infielder Garrett Cooper has been elected to the PCL All-Star Team as the starting first baseman. The 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game will be held at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Wash., home of the Tacoma Rainiers, on Wednesday, July 12 starting at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on MLB Network.

In his first full season at the Triple-A level, Cooper is hitting .357 (86 for 241) with 14 home runs, 20 doubles, 52 runs and 67 RBIs in 64 games through June 28. He ranks among the Pacific Coast League leaders in batting average (2nd), slugging percentage (.614, 2nd), RBI (3rd) and doubles (T-6th).

The All-Star Game selection is the second of Cooper's career. He was previously elected to the Southern League All-Star Team in 2016 as a member of the Biloxi Shuckers.

The 2017 Sky Sox season is in full swing at Security Service Field. For ticket information, game schedule, promotions calendar or for additional information about the Sky Sox, call 719-597-1449, visit SkySox.com, like them on Facebook or follow the team on Twitter at @skysox.
