Colorado Springs Sky Sox win at Las Vegas 6-2 behind Carpenter, McBride

LAS VEGAS - Drew Carpenter improved to 2-5 with a solid seven-inning performance as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeated the host 51s 6-2 late Friday night.

Carpenter allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks. He also walked twice himself and scored twice.

Matt McBride was 2 for 5 with a homer and two RBIs. Corey Dickerson was 3 for 3 with a run and RBI. Getting two hits each were Charlie Blackmon, Tim Wheeler and Hernan Iribarren.

The top four players in the lineup all scored.

It was a 2-2 game until the Sky Sox scored three times in the seventh inning.
