Colorado Springs resident Joseph Gray defended his Pikes Peak Ascent title with his second win in as many years Saturday.
Gray reached the summit in just over 2 hours, 8 minutes, finishing roughly seven minutes off the course record.
Touru Miyahara, of Japan, finished second in 2:18:29, while Seth James DeMoor took third in 2:21:45.
Ben Payne (2:23:06) and Jan M Margarit Solé (2:25:39) rounded out the men’s top five.
The women’s race featured a tighter finish.
Ethiopian Serkalem Biset Abrha won with a time of 2:42.19 in her first ascent. Anna Mae Flynn (2:43:14) finished less than a minute later, while Addie Bracy rounded out the women’s top three in 2:47:55.
Shannon Payne (2:53:27) and Kathryn Ann Ross (2:54:58) rounded out the women’s top five.
