The Pikeview Reservoir in Colorado Springs will be closed for maintenance beginning Monday, according to a news release from city officials.
The reservoir, located near the intersection of Garden of the Gods Road and Mark Dabling Boulevard, is expected to reopen in mid- to late October after crews clean water lines and clear them of any silt or other debris.
The closure leaves local fisherman a few more days to enjoy unlimited fishing at the reservoir as part of an emergency fish salvage effort.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife lifted daily bag and possession limits at the reservoir on Sept. 19 to encourage anglers to take some of the reservoir's fish that may be lost when the reservoir is drained for maintenance.
The reservoir will remain open to licensed fisherman during daytime hours until Monday.
