Two females ran from potential kidnappers Monday afternoon after a van followed them and a man chased them on foot.

According to Colorado Springs police, the apparent attempted kidnapping happened about 4:30 p.m. near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Rangwood Drive in the northern part of the city.

The females told officers that they were walking when a white, full-size panel van began following them. Then suddenly a man who was a passenger in the vehicle jumped out and began to chase them, they said. Police said the man who ran after the females and the driver of the van were both likely in the 30s or early 40s.

Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation are asked to call 444-7000.
