Colorado Springs police are searching for a man who reportedly walked away from the scene of a crash Monday morning on East Bijou Street and North Circle Drive.

The two-vehicle wreck happened at 7:31 a.m. when a black Jeep Cherokee and a gray 1999 Volvo S80 collided, police department spokeswoman Barbara Miller said.

The airbags on both vehicles deployed upon impact and one of the drivers was seen running from the scene, Miller said.

The man was described in his early 20s, with brown hair, a thin build, wearing black sweatpants and red shoes, with no shirt.

Police investigators discovered the Volvo had been reported as stolen, Miller said.

It was not clear which car the man had been driving, Miller said. The other driver sustained minor injuries and was treated by medical responders at the scene.

Police searched the area, but did not find the unidentified driver.

Anyone with information can call 444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (7867).
