A Colorado Springs man was in jail Tuesday in connection to an alleged home burglary and police were on the lookout for a second burglar, police said.

Tyrone Keith Washington, 18, was arrested Feb. 13 on suspicion of assault and burglary after police said he and another person allegedly forced their way into a home through a previously broken window, assaulted a woman inside and stole items from the residence.

The victim, who suffered minor injuries, reported the incident about 4:30 a.m. from the residence on the 4600 block of Skylark Road, off Airport Road and South Murray Boulevard, police said.

Officers tried to catch up with a reportedly stolen black Jeep Cherokee leaving Skylark Drive, when the vehicle crashed at the parking lot of the Walgreen's store at East Platte Avenue and North Murray Boulevard.

The driver, identified as Washington, was taken into custody without incident after a search of the area by K-9 officers, police said. The second person involved in the burglary was not found.

Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000.
