Colorado Springs police have identified the victims of Saturday's double homicide as 24-year-old Camille Root and 22-year-old Daniel Castaneda.

Root and Castaneda were found shot to death late Saturday in an alley between a pizza parlor and a tire shop on Platte Avenue near Juanita Street.

Their deaths mark the 20th and 21st homicides of the year.

Police said the shooting suspect, Gary Glen Vigil, 22, is still on the loose. Vigil is 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds. He has very short black hair, brown eyes and multiple tattoos on his chest, neck and arms, police said.

"An arrest warrant has been issued for Vigil for murder in the first-degree," police said. "He is considered 'armed and dangerous.'"
