The Colorado Springs Police honored Barbara Trombley as its Volunteer of the Year during the Community Advancing Public Safety luncheon on Monday.

Trombley, who in multiple areas with the police department, was given the award shortly before 1 p.m. at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at the Antlers Hilton Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs.

According to a news release, Trombley is the team lead with the CSPD Volunteer Evidence Recovery Team. and the Cold Case Unit. She also serves with the Senior Victim's Assistance Team, the Fingerprinting cadre and the Sex Crimes Units. Trombley has given more the 8,400 hours to the department during the past 10 years.

The release said police staff nominates candidates for Volunteer of the Year based on positive impact, outstanding accomplishments and leadership.
