A Saturday morning hit-and-run that left a man in critical condition is being investigated as an attempted murder, Colorado Springs police said. Detectives from the homicide unit are looking for the male driver of a pickup that they believe deliberately hit a 30-year-old man during a road rage incident, police said. According to police, the victim's vehicle, a green Dodge Caravan, and the pickup, described as being sky blue, were stopped in the 5600 block of North Academy Boulevard when the victim got out of his vehicle. The second driver hit the man with his truck and then drove away. Colorado Springs police are asking for the public's help in identifying or locating the driver. The truck, possibly a Toyota Tundra, may have light to moderate front-end and passenger side damage and out-of-state plates, police said. The truck might also have a rainbow decal somewhere near one of the plates. Anyone with more information is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (7867).
