Two children reported being lured by two unidentified teenagers Monday afternoon as they were walking their dog, adding to the number of stranger danger situations the Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating.

A 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl told police they were walking their dog on the 1000 block of War Eagle Drive, off Rockrimmon Boulevard, around 4:30 p.m. Monday when two teen-age boys approached them in an SUV and offered them candy.

Police said the children did not acknowledge the strangers and walked home immediately, then alerted their parents.

The teenagers were described as having blonde hair and driving a dark-colored SUV with unknown license plates.

On Sunday, an unidentified man driving a red or maroon Ford Explorer or Expedition approached two children on North Walnut Street near Buena Ventura Street, offering them candy.

In a separate incident last Tuesday, an older man and a teenage passenger tried to lure children, also with offers of candy. Police said they were driving a blue minivan in the area of Vista Oaks Drive and Rockbridge Drive around 11 a.m.

Anyone with information on any of these cases is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (7867).
