Colorado Springs investigators Friday conducted a follow-up interview with the 9-year-old girl who fought off a pair of teenaged males who tried to kidnap her Thursday night.

"A few tips came in," said Barbara Miller, spokeswoman for the Colorado Springs Police Department. "Investigators are continuing the investigation."

Police also continued to scour the area on Friday for the two males in connection with the attempted abduction of the girl near Carefree Circle South and North Powers Boulevard.

Police said she was playing outside her home about 7:30 p.m. when the two allegedly grabbed her from behind and tried to take her away from the home, police said.

She fought against the assailants. When she began to scream they fled, police said.

According to police radio calls, the girl bit both of her attackers and scratched one.

The teens were described as white and about 5-feet, 7-inches tall with blond hair. One of the teens was thin and had a long scar on his forearm, police said.

Anyone with information should call 444-7000, or Pikes Peak Crime Stoppers Inc. at 634-STOP (7867).
