Colorado Springs Police arrested a woman Friday night after she allegedly stabbed a man downtown following an argument over panhandling.

Officers located the victim just after 7 p.m. near the intersection of North Tejon Street and Colorado Avenue after being dispatched to an altercation involving seven people, police said. The victim had a cut on his forearm and told police that Idalia Espinoza, 29, used a knife to slash him after a verbal altercation escalated.

Officers located Espinoza around 9:30 p.m. near where they found the victim and took her into custody.

Espinoza was charged with second-degree assault and is being held at the El Paso County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
