Colorado Springs philanthropists William J. and Kathy Hybl are among a group of honorees selected to receive the Colorado Governor's Citizenship Medals for contributing to their communities' growth.
The Hybls were honored as a Vanguard Legacy for their work through El Pomar Foundation, of which William is the chairman and chief executive officer.
"The Hybls are philanthropic and community leaders for not only southern Colorado, but the entire Centennial State," Gov. John Hickenlooper's office said in a news release Tuesday, noting William's public service and his leadership as president emeritus of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
A medals presentation will be held Nov. 16 at the History Colorado Center in Denver.
