A Colorado Springs native has fulfilled a dream and landed successfully on the ice in her hometown. Alexe Gilles stars in the Disney on Ice production of "Dream Big" at the Broadmoor World Arena. This 2010 Cheyenne Mountain High School graduate's emotional plate is filled with nervousness and excitement about showing off her skating skills as "Queen Elsa of Arendelle," "It's amazing. I've waited three years to play Colorado. It's home, so family and friends, everyone is going to be here." Gilles joined the Disney on Ice show in July 2014 and has been touring the world with this production.

Gilles is an ice champion who trained in Colorado Springs. Her skating honors include being a 2008 U.S. Junior Champion and winning in that same year a bronze medal in the Junior Grand Prix Final. She was injured during her career and decided to perform in a different way on the ice which led her to follow her path onto the Disney on Ice world stage.

Gilles, 25, has been skating since she was two and a half years old and has advice for other skaters who also want to dream big, "Work hard, fight through those battles, keep going because there will be highs and lows and make sure you do something you absolutely love and are passionate about and keep on doing it."

Gilles' - aka Queen Elsa's - star will be shining brightly during performances of Disney on Ice's "Dream Big" at The Broadmoor World Arena, Friday, March 24, Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26. For more information on ticket prices and showtimes go to broadmoorworldarena.com.
