The Colorado Springs Disaster Assistance Center will open at noon Thursday at Canon Elementary School, at 1201 W. Cheyenne Rd., offering one-stop services to residents impacted by recent flooding.

Confirmed contributing agencies include Colorado Springs Public Works, Office of Emergency Management, Public Works, Pikes Peak Red Cross, El Paso County Public Health Department, Aspen Pointe, Colorado Springs Utilities, Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Colorado Department of Revenue, 211 Pikes Peak United Way Community Resource and the Apartment Association of Southern Colorado.

Grief counselors and local nonprofits will also be offering their services.

The center will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, said Kim Melchor, city spokeswoman.
