A Colorado Springs woman was arrested Sunday after her son told police she allegedly stabbed him.

Ester Rosario, 40, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and felony child abuse at a residence on the 2100 block of Delta Drive, off South Chelton Road, according to police reports.

Rosario's son, a minor, called police about 6:30 a.m. and told them his mother had hurt him with a knife, police said.

Officers found Rosario with a knife and the boy with a non life-threatening stab wound, police said. The boy was treated for the injury at a local hospital and Rosario was booked into the El Paso County jail, records show.

Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000.
