A man was arrested Friday after bringing a loaded gun into the Colorado Springs airport, police said.

Colorado Springs police said a Transportation Security Administration screener spotted a gun in the man's backpack.

After searching the bag, officers found a loaded handgun.

The man admitted that the gun was his, and told police that he forgot to remove the gun from his bag.

He was released, and booked for a later flight, police said.
