A Colorado Springs man was taken into custody after allegedly firing a shotgun at police near downtown Colorado Springs Wednesday.
Seth Michael Ebert, 38, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a police officer, trespass and weapons violations, records show.
Police responded to a buglary-in-progress call about 10 p.m. when a resident reported seeing a man break into the storm cellar of the house next door on the 800 block of North Wahsatch Avenue, police said.
One officer suffered minor injuries to his arms and legs when Ebert allegedly fired a shotgun and glass sprayed everywhere, according to police reports.
Police retreated and set up a perimeter around the house and Ebert surrendered shortly after.
Investigators recovered a defaced firearm and a sawed-off shotgun from the house and there were no other suspects found, police said.
Ebert did not live in the residence and allegedly forced his way into the cellar, police said.
Ebert was booked into the El Paso County jail and will be advised of the charges Thursday afternoon, records show.
