Looking for a job?
The Pikes Peak Workforce Center expects to have more than 2,400 possibilities at its Fall Job Fair, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 1775 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. Veterans will be allowed early entry at 9:30 a.m., but must bring a DD-214 or military ID.
The fair will give job-seekers a chance to connect with about 80 companies that are in hiring mode.
Job seekers need to pre-register at www.ppwfc.org, research companies before the job fair, apply online before the job fair, and dress appropriately. Participating companies are listed on the website; look for "Fall Job Fair" under "Workshops & Events."
If you're not a veteran but still want to get an early start on job fair day, sign up for a special workshop, "Make the Job Fair Work for You!" Those in attendance will get information on a number of topics, including how to research companies in advance and how talk to recruiters - and they'll be able to get into the job fair 45 minutes early.
The workshop is 10 a.m. to noon Monday and will be repeated 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Both will be held at the center's office at the Citizens Service Center, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road.
Register is required; go online to ppwfc.org.
