A family was displaced Wednesday when a fire sparked in their northeast Colorado Springs home, a fire department spokesperson confirmed.

The fire was reported about 11 a.m. from a single residence on the 3900 block of Half Turn Place, off North Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

According to scanner traffic, firefighters had the blaze under control by 11:30 a.m. and were beginning cleanup operations.

The Red Cross was at the scene to help the residents find temporary lodging.

There were no injuries reported and fire investigators were en route to the home, said city spokeswoman Kim Melchor.
