A 26-year-old man trying to correct his mistake after pulling too far into an intersection Thursday afternoon was cited for careless driving after he backed into a person.
Ricardo Trevizo reportedly stopped at a stop sign on Baylor Drive about 3:30 p.m., but went too far, Colorado Springs police said. Trevizo started backing up so his vehicle wouldn't be hit by a driver on East San Miguel Street when he backed into a pedestrian crossing behind him.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the extent of the persons injuries was not known Friday.
There are no outlined crosswalks in the residential neighborhood.
