Jeanice Kerr Swift, assistant superintendent of instruction, curriculum and student services for Colorado Springs School District 11, was one of two finalists to lead the 16,500-student Ann Arbor, Mich., school district.

The board of education on Friday offered the superintendent of Ann Arbor Public Schools position to Brian Osborne of New Jersey. Both candidates were selected from a field of 61 applicants, then narrowed to six semi-finalists.

Swift has worked in education for 25 years, as a classroom teacher, teacher coach, principal and district administrator.
