The Colorado Springs City Council unanimously approved a list of recommended projects to be funded using Lodgers, Automotive, Rental Tax money.

The council will recommend about $4 million in funding for events, including the Colorado Springs Balloon Classic, the Rocky Mountain State Games, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the Festival of Lights Parade.

The council also recommended the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau get the lion’s share of the money, $2.6 million. The organization asked for 
$3.1 million.

The recommendations will advance to the mayor and be incorporated in the 2014 city budget, which is expected to be presented in October.
