Brother Luck, owner of Four by Brother in Colorado Springs, is alive and well on the 15th season of Bravo's "Top Chef."

In Episode 8 this week, Luck beat Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins in the Last Chance Kitchen - his third straight triumph in the challenge.

"Of all the chefs in the competition, Claudette scares me the most," Luck said.

Last Chance Kitchen judge Tom Colicchio brought in a table of rescued food for each of the chefs to create an entree.

"This is like cooking when you're broke," Luck said. "When I was growing up, we got donated food from the church. You learn to make do. It made me a better chef."

Luck grabbed eggplant, artichokes and "all the fresh herbs I could get my hands on" to make grilled artichoke on charred eggplant puree.

Colicchio was impressed by each contestant's dish.

"It's a tough one," the judge said of his decision. "But Brother, the kitchen is still yours."

Luck has to beat three more chefs to get back into the running for the Top Chef title.

The next test comes in Episode 9 at 8 p.m. Thursday.
