A 15-year-old boy arrested after the fatal stabbing of his stepfather pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor assault.
The boy will serve two years of supervised probation as the result of a plea agreement.
In addressing the allegations Wednesday, he told a juvenile judge that he repeatedly punched the victim, Norzell Badger Jr., as Badger fought with the boy's older brother at the family's home. Badger was ultimately stabbed to death during the fight, authorities say.
The boy's brother, Avery James Jackson, 17, is charged with first-degree murder and is due in court in May for a hearing to determine if he will be tried as an adult.
