Raj Adhikari and Muku Bhandari, owners of the award-winning Little Nepal Indian Restaurant & Bar eateries, have hired award-winning Rick Velliquette as a managing partner.
Velliquette, winner of 2011 and 2013 "Best of the Springs" server, most recently worked at Joseph's Fine Dining the past five years.
"Rick has been assisting and consulting with us unofficially for two years," said Adhikari in a press release. "We felt it was time to make it offical and bring him into our family. He has almost single-handedly refurbished and created the new look and feel of our second location on Flintridge."

Michelle Marx and Turu Marx Eurich, owners of Coquette's Bistro & Bakery, are moving their business from Manitou Springs to 321 N. Tejon St. in Colorado Springs. They will keep a smaller operation in Manitou Springs. The plan is to have the new location open by Feb. 14.
End of an era
Back in the day, neighborhood grocery stores were the norm. Not so any more, and the closing of The Little Market and Deli, 749 E. Willamette Ave., is a sign of the times.
"Our last day will be Dec. 24," said Kimberly Garcia, daughter of store owner Chris Bettendorf. "Mom has been using her retirement money to keep the store open. It's time for her stop working and take it easy."
