Still cleaning up the damage from a severe hailstorm early Wednesday morning, the Colorado Springs area may experience more of the same Wednesday afternoon.
El Paso County will likely experience “strong to marginally severe” storms with possible hail up to an inch in diameter, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Hodanish.
Colorado Springs could see a high near 86 degrees Wednesday with a 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., the Weather Service predicted. The storm is expected to stick around throughout the night.
Temperatures are forecast to stay in the 80s and 90s for the rest of the week, with possible afternoon showers, forecasters say.
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for southwest Colorado from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, due to the threat of dry lightning and the presence of dry fuels.
