The El Vecino Apartments at 1802 Monterey Rd. were evacuated after explosives were reportedly found in one of the units Monday.

Colorado Springs police said the call came in at 11:05 a.m. and evacuation was completed by 12:40 p.m. Barricades have been set up and Monterey Road is closed east of South Circle Drive.

Barbara Miller, police spokeswoman, said police are waiting the arrival of the Regional Explosives Unit for a thorough search of the apartment in question.
