Colorado Springs 7-Eleven stores robbed overnight

Colorado Springs police say two 7-Eleven convenience stores in the city were robbed in a roughly four-hour span overnight.

The store at 331 S. Hancock Expressway was robbed shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday and the store at 450 N. Murray Blvd. was robbed at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Both robberies involved a man with a handgun. It's not known if they are connected, but both men left with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect in the South Hancock robbery left in a dark colored SUV type vehicle, police said.

The other suspect in the North Murray robbery left in a blue vehicle.
