A 7-Eleven clerk fended off four robbers in a late-night shoplifting attempt in downtown Colorado Springs.

Three females and one male entered the 7-Eleven at 503 South Nevada Avenue at about 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning. The clerk told police that the group was trying to steal from the store.

When the clerk confronted the group, one of the females said she had a knife. The clerk pulled her box cutter in self-defense. The female suspect ran from the store without having shown a weapon, and the other three fled in a car that police later determined was stolen.

No arrests were made.
