DENVER — The widow of Colorado's slain prisons director will not testify about her husband's death during a sentencing hearing for woman who gave his presumed killer the murder weapon.

Lisa Clements was given the opportunity to testify at Monday's hearing in Denver but did not take the stand.

The father of another man allegedly killed by paroled prison gang member Evan Ebel did testify during Stevie Marie Vigil's sentencing hearing.

John Leon is the father of pizza deliveryman Nathan Leon, whom prosecutors say was also killed by Ebel with the same gun. He said the gun shouldn't have been given to an "evil person."

Federal prosecutors say Ebel also used the gun to wound a sheriff's deputy in Texas, where he fled. Ebel was killed in a shootout with Texas authorities.
