Two people from Colorado were arrested Monday in Missouri and face felony kidnapping charges.

Samuel Deatherage, 38, and Trisha Deatherage, 34, of Cotopaxi were wanted on a nationwide extradition warrant for kidnapping. Trisha Deatherage turned herself in to authorities Monday. Samuel was found soon after.

Eight children, including the two reported missing, were placed into custody of the state Division of Family Services. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said the children were in good shape.

The Custer County sheriff said the two juveniles were working for the Deatherages in Colorado and were home schooled. On Sept. 26, their parents reported them missing.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office continually tried to get in touch with the Deatherages and were unsuccessful until recently. When they finally made contact with Trisha Deatherage, they asked her to turn herself in to authorities in Missouri. She took the children to local authorities, turned herself in and then provided the location of the rest of her family. The Deatherages did not have the legal right to take the two juveniles out of state.
