The Tigers and Falcons combined to go 4-0 last weekend. Here is a look at some of the top performers:
Mason Bergh, F, Colorado College
The line Bergh centers with Nick Halloran and Trey Bradley on the wings had an impressive weekend as a whole, but the Tigers captain grabbed the spotlight when he finished his first career hat trick during the third period Saturday night. He totaled four goals and an assist during the home series, and won 52 percent of his faceoffs.
His first goal Saturday came at an important juncture after Colorado College was outplayed for much of the first period.
“Mason and that line got us going again,” coach Mike Haviland said Saturday. “He kind of led by example tonight.”
Nick Halloran, F, Colorado College
Sophomore Halloran’s weekend featured a goal and five assists. His four points Friday night were a career high, and he leads the team with seven points. He’s shown a willingness to throw the puck at the net more consistently, as his coach asked, leading the team with 18 shots.
Erik Baskin, F, Air Force
The senior tallied a goal in each of Air Force’s victories against Arizona State to help stave off an early loss the No. 19 Falcons really didn’t need on Friday night, and to start the scoring in a solid 3-2 win Saturday.
“Last night we avoided disaster, but tonight we deserved to win the game,” coach Frank Serratore said Saturday. “We took a major step tonight.”
Two of Baskin’s three goals this season have come on the power play.
