A cup of coffee helped prevent a burglary Friday morning in Colorado Springs.

As a burglar hammered through the back door of a residence on the 4100 block of Athena Lane around 7:30 a.m, a next door neighbor enjoying a cup of Joe in his backyard was watching the suspect's every move, Colorado Springs police said.

The "good neighbor" notified police who arrived and found the burglar hiding in the basement of the home he illegally entered. Travis Baxley, 25, who was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with an unrelated crime, was taken into custody.
