Colorado Springs police determined a woman was at fault when she walked behind a moving garbage truck and was struck by the vehicle's mud flap Thursday.

The truck was clearly backing up and its precautionary alarm was beeping when a pedestrian stepped behind it and was hit about 7:30 a.m. on East Caramillo Street, just off North Union Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard, police said.

The woman wasn't hurt and the garbage truck driver stopped immediately.

Officers at the scene chose not to give the pedestrian a citation, police said.
