  • May 20 - SECTION 00 11 16 INVITATION TO BID RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids for construction of the 2nd and Front Street Impr-ovements project will be received by the Town of Monument, 645 Beacon Lite Rd, Monument, CO 80132 until June 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. (local time) and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained on or after May 16, 2017. Contract Documents will be available electronically via email. *Electronic Copy: CONTRACT DOCUMENTS will be available as .pdf files. ENGINEER shall be contacted if an electronic copy is requested. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The complete work is for the construction of the 2nd and Front Street Improvements project. The Work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of installation of a 6-inch diameter C900 PVC pipeline, three 6-inch gate valves, fire hydrant relocation, and all appurtenances and fittings to make connections to existing pipeline. Work includes installation of 2, 24-inch smooth wall HDPE storm lines between a proposed CDOT Type R Inlet and proposed CDOT Type C Inlet. Work includes installing concrete encasement on existing sanitary sewer line in vicinity of proposed 6-inch diameter C900 PVC waterline. Work includes removing existing asphalt in area of work and installing newly graded asphalt at less severe grades. Work includes installation of 2 handicap accessible transition curbs. In addition, the curb along the east edge of Front Street shall be removed and replaced. All sidewalk that is disturbed during grading or utility replacement/abandonment activities shall be repaired or replaced. This work shall include all civil, mechanical, instrumentation and structural work required therein. BID SECURITY: Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified cashier's check or a corporate bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the TOWN OF MONUMENT in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The Successful BIDDER will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount not less than 100% of the contract price. LABOR REQUIREMENTS: The attention of Bidders is directed to the applicable federal and state requirements regarding conditions of employment to be observed. All bidders are required to comply with Executive Order No. 11246 regarding equal employment opportunities. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to the ENGINEER for the project, and all questions shall be in writing. It shall be understood, however, that no interpretations of the manufacturer's drawings will be made by telephone. For "or equal" items to be considered for evaluation, Contractor must submit information in compliance with Article 11 in Section 00 21 13 - "Instructions to Bidders."
