Still DONALD STILL June 3, 2018 Donald Still, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 3, 2018 in Colorado Springs Colorado at the age of 88. Don was born in Kirksville, Missouri and is the younger of two children born to the late Bert and Audria Still. Donald graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1947. After graduation, he attended Blairs Business College. He was employed by Universal Electric and then Western Forge. He served 27 years in the US Naval Air Reserves. Donald enjoyed being outdoors, he loved fishing, skiing, hunting, bird watching, golfing and traveling. He drove many miles in the family RV. He was also a long-time attendee of Grandview Community Church where he was very involved. He was proceeded in death by parents, Bert and Audria Still; brother, Clyde Still. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elah Marie Still; children, Lynn (Shelly) Still of Black Forest, Colorado; Dean (Kerri) Still of Batavia, II; and Lisa (Travis) Miller; grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, Amy, Laura Still; Kaleb and Ethan Still; Ben, Levi, Tarra, Emma, and Lucas Miller. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday June 23, 2018 at 11 AM at Grandview Community church, 4870 Flintridge Drive, Colorado Spring, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grandview Community Church or Ronald McDonald House.

Woodmen Road Peyton, CO 80831 WHY: One of District 49's strategic principles is maintaining positive engagement with our community. Following instruction from the El Paso County Planning Commission, the D49 Board of Education will host a public meeting to address the proposed location for Liberty Tree Academy, a planned charter school, authorized by the district. The Planning Commission asks the BOE to address a list of concerns to include questions of traffic management, parking, signaling at the access intersection, capacity for emergency vehicle parking, management of street-side parking, student transportation via school bus, building size plus expansion capability, security, and trail access for those riding bikes or walking to school. In response, the BOE will hold a public hearing prior to its regularly scheduled meeting on June 27, 2018. The hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m. The district will also, accordingly, notify the El Paso County Planning Commission of the time and date of the public hearing. Richardson James Kent Richardson March 15, 1948 - May 12, 2018 Originally from Lansing, Michigan, and a graduate of Michigan State University, Jim was a life-long, avid Spartan fan. Go Green. He grew up spending his summers at Higgins Lake, Michigan. Jim served his country with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Jim met his wife, Trish, in San Diego through a blind date set up by his brother-in-law, Jamal, and they married August 27, 1990. They moved to Colorado in 1993 where Jim worked in the telecommunication industry and will be missed by many of his Verizon coworkers. Jim also made a meaningful difference in people's lives through his transformational work with Landmark Worldwide. Jim and Trish had no biological children, but over the years, they opened their home to foreign exchange students and Air Force Academy cadets. Jim loved laughter, interesting people, great conversations, Rocky's burgers, San Diego beaches, playing pool and his pals at Guthries. He enjoyed working outdoors gardening and tinkering and had multiple projects in the works. More of Jim's great loves were second helpings, BBQ, riding his Harley and watching sports. He never outgrew his love of pizza and ice-cream, even during his year-long battle with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Trish Richardson; his brother, Dan (Jill) Richardson; sisters, Jane (Randy) Miller and Julie (Jamal) Deeb; step-brother, Rick Pearse; step-sisters, Jan (Chuck) Horsely and Hope (Ken) Kolker; Aunt Sue (Larry) Kirkby; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; the Charles Family in San Diego; his adopted Colorado family, the Wetzel/Coppeaks; his two Air Force daughters, Esther Willett and Kari Granger; and his Armenian daughter, Sona Karapetyan. Jim's last generous act was to donate his body for research to Science Care. His loved ones will hold a celebration of life for Jim Sunday, July 1, 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Hillside Gardens, 1006 S. Institute St. Colorado Springs.

Estrada JOSEPH S. ESTRADA August 19, 1960 - June 6, 2018 Joseph S. Estrada, age 57, passed away on June 6, 2018. He was born to Joseph Estrada Sr. and Gloria Madrid on 8/19/1960 in Trinidad, CO but spent most of his life in Colorado Springs. Joe attended school at Corpus Christi, St. Mary's High School, and graduated from Palmer High School in 1979. After attending some community college classes, he went on to a life of three careers: first-Forest Service, where he gained his lifelong love of the outdoors, second-producing and repairing computer hardware, and third-plumber, earning his Journeyman Plumbers License in 2008. Joe worked on many projects as a plumber. His favorite was at the Air Force Academy, especially the day care, where he was affectionately known as the "Fix-it Man". He is survived by his lifelong companion, Amy Gunning, many friends, and all of Amy's family, who adopted him as their own. He is preceded in death by his mother, his maternal grandparents, and one aunt. Joe loved to go four-wheeling in the mountains with Amy in their beloved trucks and mountain biking with his buddies. He was a great friend; he was fun to be around, and you could always count on him to make you laugh. Wish you were still with us, but since you aren't, we are so glad you are at peace with the Lord. Cremation has taken place through Shrine of Remembrance and a private family service will be held in Idaho at the end of June. A Celebration of Life service will be held July 7, at 10:30am at Vista Grande Community Church-UCC, located at 5460 N. Haley JAMES F HALEY August 10, 1937 - June 14, 2018 "Mr. Wonderful" Jim was born in Oak Hill, KS. He served 4 years as a naval radar technician on the carrier USS Yorktown. He graduated from CU in electrical engineering and was proud of his work at Hewlett Packard 1969-1998. Jim was famous for repairing things wherever he went, and liked to leave things better than he found them. Jim died at his home after a 3 year battle with myelofibrosis. Jim is survived by his wife, Camilla, his son, Doug, daughter Janet (Alan Krech), and two grandsons, Scott and Paul. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole. Jim's ashes will be scattered near the cabin he built at Brush Creek.

Steen ELEANOR SEVERA STEEN December 30, 1932 - June 13, 2018 Eleanor Severa Steen (December 30, 1932-June 13, 2018) died in Moose Lake, Minnesota. Born to Lumir and Margaret (Deacon) Severa, Eleanor was a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1950. She attended Colorado College for two years then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained her degree in occupational therapy in 1954. After residences in Norwich, Conn., Mt. Morris, NY, and Manchester, England, she began her career at the Mayo Clinic (St. Mary's Hospital) in Rochester, Minnesota. In 1957, Eleanor moved to Moose Lake to launch the occupational therapy program at the Moose Lake State Hospital. During her career, she also worked as an occupational therapist for the Moose Lake Public School. In Moose Lake, she met and married Warren D. Steen (November 25, 1961), and they resided on Sand Lake where they raised their family. Eleanor had been an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Moose Lake, serving as the congregational president in the 1980s and singing in the choir for decades. She played the oboe in the Moose Lake Community Band and sang in Autumn Voices, a community choir. Other favorite activities include spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, canoeing, weaving, reading, history, bowling, bridge, and watching Twins baseball. She was a founding donor of the National Czech and Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Her survivors include her four children and their families: Duane, wife Michelle, Ella, Max; Kathryn; Carla, husband Jeff Friedl, Lucy; Peter, wife Billie Jo, Emma, Benjamin and Joey. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Heath and brother, William Severa, both of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church Choir, the Moose Lake Area Historical Society, or the American Cancer Society. Services were held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2 PM in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake, MN. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake, MN. Hanson PAUL E. HANSON November 10, 1938 - June 9, 2018 Paul Hanson, 79 of Colorado Springs passed away June 9, 2018. He was born November 10, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri. Paul married Geraldine Bertsch in 1973. Paul worked as the owner and operator of Hanson Sprinkler and Landscaping for over 30 years. One of his favorite activities was to spend time with his two granddaughters. He rarely missed a soccer game, swim meet or band concert. Paul is survived by his sister, Anita Carlisle (Tom). His step children, Daniel Bertsch, Kim Selby (Glenn), Lynn Bertsch, and Dr. William Bertsch (Amy) and grandchildren, Erin and Ashley Bertsch. Paul is preceaded in death by his wife, parents and brother Chuck. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 20, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

McGinnis CYNTHIA LYN MCGINNIS September 24, 1955 - June 11, 2018 Cynthia Lyn McGinnis, Born September 24th 1955, entered into eternity June 11th 2018. Cindie is survived by her husband, Ernest; and her 2 sons, Richard Redfern and Elliot McGinnis. 2 sisters, Marsha Griman, Patricia Miller, and her brother, Thom Miller. Cindie loved gardening, canning, bowling on the senior league, and of course walking her favorite buddy, Bryce at Bear Creek Dog Park. She touched everyone she met and always found the good in people. She was an excellent cook and baker and was always looking for new recipes to try out with her family. Her favorite saying was, "Love your life and everyone in it." She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. There will be a private family service. Darr CHARLES C DARR May 22, 1924 - June 13, 2018 Charles Curtis Darr went to be with his Lord on June 13, 2018. He was born on a farm near Palmyra, Iowa on May 22, 1924 to Eugene and Maude Darr. He served during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1947 where he met Margaret Heyer. They married in 1948 and celebrated 65 years together. She preceded him in death in May 2013. He is survived by 6 children: Bonnie Blair (Ron), Fort Collins, Co., Patty Kennard (Merle), Salem, Or., Stephen (Paula), Yoder, Co., Timothy, Lakewood, Co., Emilie Arambula (Andy), Indianapolis, Valerie Kahre (Duane), Colorado Springs. He had 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He ministered for his Lord for 63 years; 33 of those years, he served as chaplain for the El Paso County Sheriff's Department. Dincecco THOMAS M. DINCECCO February 15, 1927 - June, 1, 2018 Thomas M. Dincecco celebrated a long career in the marine insurance business, and aside from his family, was perhaps most proud of his life-long mountaineering and wilderness hiking achievements, which took him to the summits of 150 mountains throughout the U.S. He died peacefully surrounded in love by family. Tom grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts, in an Italian family, full of life and celebration. He proudly served in the USAF in WWII as a weather forecaster and subsequently graduated from the University of Chicago. Tom leaves behind his daughter, Linda (Michael) Gardner, Colorado Springs, CO Grandchildren: Erin Gardner, Indian Hills CO; Kate (Brandon) Larson, Lafayette, CO; Rachel (Brad) Van Brocklin, Denver, CO; Rebekah (Andrew) Madera, Florence, MA, and Joshua Kaufman, New York City. Great Grandchild: Tege Madera. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jan and her husband Roger Schiller of Woodstock, Illinois. A private Celebration of Life will be held in his honor.
