Cimino Michael James Cimino June 1, 1941 - September 8, 2017 Michael Cimino age 76, a native of Colorado Springs passed away on September 8, 2017. Michael was born on June 1, 1941 to Manuel Cimino and Emilia Varrone. Michael graduated from St. Mary's High School and married Janice Cimino in November 1963. They were happily married for 52 years. While he held many jobs throughout his life, he loved wood working and selling his work at various craft fairs in Colorado Springs. Michael was preceded in death by his father, his wife Janice Cimino, and son Edward Cimino. Michael is survived by his mother, son, Lawrence Cimino (Sylvie), two grandchildren, Elise and Nicholas Cimino, and sister, Carolyn Marshall. A visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 10:00 am on September 23, 2017 with a memorial service to follow at 12 pm.

Luciani Chief Master Sergeant Frank Luciani Chief Master Sergeant Frank Luciani, United States Air Force, Retired, passed away at the age of 85 on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, at Morningstar Senior Living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His passing followed a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and a recent debilitating cerebral stroke. Frank was born on January 23rd, 1932, to Loretta (Savasta) and Frank Luciani. A Brooklynite to the core, he grew up there, grudgingly forgave the Dodgers' move to Los Angeles, and joined the Air Force from there in 1951. Following a tour in Korea, Frank met and married his wife of 62 years, Virginia, on St. Valentine's Day in 1953. They were together until here passing in 2015. Their oldest daughter, Patricia Vitelli, was born in Aberdeen, Maryland in 1954; and their youngest, Connie, was born in Kansas City in 1956. They travelled the country throughout the remainder of Frank's career, settling in Colorado in 1960. Aside from a short tour in Florida and Frank's tour in Viet Nam, where he earned a Bronze Star medal, Colorado Springs remained the family home until Frank retired from the Air Force in 1980. Frank then joined Ent Federal Credit Union as their personnel manager, retiring from that position in 1990. In addition to his daughters, Frank is survived by three grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews of multiple generations. Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Agnes (Luciani) Carias. Cappadona Funeral Home at 1020 E. Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs is handling arrangements; and will host Frank's family and friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017. Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Colorado Springs on Thursday, September 21st, at 10:00 AM, with interment following at Evergreen Cemetery, also in Colorado Springs. After interment, family and close friends will gather at Hope House, next to Holy Trinity Church, to celebrate Frank's life and legacy.

Smith Dorothy S. Smith 1918 - 2017 Dorothy S. Smith, 99, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Basin, WY. Dorothy was born on March 21, 1918 to Charles P. and Caroline Wall in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Bacteriology in 1938. She married Harold W. Smith in August, 1940. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, bowling, and learning to cook German and Japanese foods. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Christine Hupp. She is survived by her sons, Harold Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, Christopher (Susan) Smith of Dayton, WY, brothers Donald Wall of Cincinnati, OH, Richard Wall of Ellicott City, MD, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Scovel Donald H. Scovel Donald H. Scovel born in 1950 in Wichita, Kansas to Louis Green and Clarence Scovel. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, Christian, patriot, business owner, craftsman, and animal lover. Don graduated from Widefield High School in 1968. He enlisted in the US Army 1969 and served honorably in the Vietnam war. Don was married to Diane Corbin in 1974. He completed his bachelor's degree at Central Bible College in 1981. He had a heart for the Lord and was a senior pastor for several churches in Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado. In 1989, Don followed his calling in the ministry and served in Papua New Guinea as a missionary with his family. There he built churches, ran a bible school, clinic, and life skills program in a remote village area. Don worked in the family trade of construction for most of his life and owned three businesses serving customers with integrity and a strong work ethic. Don and his family settled in Colorado Springs, he worked as a chief estimator and a business owner. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hiking, softball, golf, home improvements, and most of all spending time with his family. Don is survived by his wife Diane; their two children: Dawn (Mark) Stottlemyre, Shane (Norka) Scovel, grandchild, Quinn Stottlemyre; sisters, Doris Poole, Sue (Bob) Hofer, brothers, Barry (Gay) Scovel, Troy (Denise) Green. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by many and trusted by all. Simpson Alice E. (Saxton) Simpson Alice E. Saxton Simpson, after 85 years on the planet, 64 years of marriage, 3 kids, 8 grandkids and 3 great-grandkids passed quietly away the evening of Thursday, September 14, 2017 at home. Born September 29, 1931, Alice was the first child of George W. Saxton and Marie D. Saxton in Plattsburgh, MO. Her family eventually moved to Rochester, NY where Alice met the man who would become her husband, Norvell J. Simpson. They married in 1953 and celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on July 11 of this year. Mrs. Simpson had been a resident of Colorado Springs for 49 years. She retired from the Election Department, the office of the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder. In her retirement she travelled the country with her husband in their RV and wintered in Yuma, AZ. Alice Simpson was a Past Commandress of Kadesia Court #162, a member of St. John's Baptist Church, and a member of the Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society. Mourning her loss and rejoicing her life are her husband, Norvell J. Simpson, son Gary Simpson (Elaine), daughters Sharon Simpson-Dogon and Leslie Summey (Harold), brother George G. Saxton, sisters Gloria S. Houston and Elaine S. White, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley S. Hayes. Alice asked that there be a public visitation where everyone can come say "Bye." That will be held at Angelus Chapel, 1104 S. Circle Drive on Friday, September 22 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Baptist Church located at 902 S. Morrison Lois Morrison May 21, 1929 - July 24, 2017 Lois was born in Grundy county, Missouri. Daughter to Ray and Edith Cooksey. Married to Ralph Morrison 1953. Passed away July 24, 2017. Lois was a teacher in School District 11 for 32 years. She volunteered at Greenfield Village and Sunland Village East in Mesa, Arizona. Also volunteered at School District 20 and Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs. Preceded in death by her mother, father, brother and husband. Lois is survived by her daughters Beth Klein and Carole Morrison. Three grandchildren Connor Klein, Parker Reece and Brennen Reece and one great granddaughter Sadie Reece. "Lois' Party" will be held at Sunrise Methodist Church September 30th at 3pm. In her memory please wear red. In lieu of flowers, a donation to All Breed Rescue and Training in Colorado Springs.

Fernandez Teresa Lynn Fernandez January 12, 1962 September 13, 2017 Teresa (Terri) Lynn Fernandez died in the presence and comfort of her local family members after a week in Critical Care at Penrose Hospital. She was born January 12, 1962 at Fort Carson Hospital, and spent the first eighteen years of her life travelling the world with her father, Colonel Victor Fernandez and her mother, Sherry. She returned to the United States from Germany in 1979, and rejoined the family for the final assignments, and returned home to Colorado Springs in 1989. She married Mark Sherratt on 28 June, 1992 at The Little Church at Rock Ledge Ranch. Terri is survived by her husband, Mark of Colorado Springs, daughter Kathrine Ann Taylor of Asheville, North Carolina, father and mother Vic and Sherry Fernandez of Colorado Springs, aunt Valarie (Ron) Book from Security/Fountain, uncle Kevin (Lynn) Shields of Chapel Hill North Carolina, aunt Marian (Ron) Horton from Bayfield Colorado, Martin Fernandez of Lakewood Colorado, Carol Fernandez of Arvada Colorado, Carol Ann Fernandez of Trinidad, CO, Dennis (Cheryl) Fernandez of San Luis Obispo California, Gerard Fernandez of Kirkland WA, and numerous cousins across the United States. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Valentine and Genevieve Fernandez of Trinidad, CO, and Cecil and Betty Jean Shields of Colorado Springs, as well as uncles John (Carol Ann) Fernandez of Trinidad CO and Daniel(Carol) Fernandez of Arvada CO.
