A. was an avid golfer and a life-time member of the Broadmoor Golf Club and The El Paso Club. Through his life he was an active entrepreneur. He loved flying as a pilot and brought his skills to open the Piper airplane dealership and FBO in Colorado Springs. Later in life he headed an insurance underwriting corporation working with automobile dealers nationwide. W. A. traveled extensively with his wife Eileen and enjoyed spending time in Taos. W. She was a caring, empathetic and funny woman who was always supportive and ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and strangers when needed. She was best known for her quick-witted humor which drew people to her during all occasions, if for nothing else, a good laugh. Karen was born October 10, 1942 in Denver, but grew up in Colorado Springs. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Betty Whitney who owned Whitney Electric. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1960 before attending Colorado Woman's College in Denver. She is pre-deceased by her first husband, Joseph Burton Mandel of New York City, who graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1961, the year they were married. Karen married Paul (Tim) Gilbert of Hot Sulphur Springs in Colorado Springs in 1986. In Colorado Springs, she was best known for her fund-raising activity for the construction of the Namaste Alzheimer's Center where, after its completion, she worked several years as an administrator. In addition, she was a member of the Junior League, and she was employed by the Air Force Academy as the Assistant Cadet Wing Hostess from 1979 to 1985. She also served on the Board of the Southern Colorado AIDS Project for several years in the 1990s. Karen and Paul moved to Grand Lake in 2008, where she served on the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre for seven years. She was also active in the Trinity Church in the Pines. She is survived by her husband Paul Gilbert of Grand Lake; her daughter Dawn Murray (Mike and two grandsons, Jack and Daniel Heher) of Denver; her son Christopher "C. Their early marriage adventure as RVers took them through the western U.S. & Canada until 2006, when they settled in Tucson. Sandy was passionate about Colorado & the Rocky Mountains & loved to visit her family there. She preferred small town life. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother & grandmother. Born March 5, 1936 in Pensacola, Florida to Lucille Freeman Morrison and Floyd Wellington Morrison, Alice grew up in Florida, North Carolina, and Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama, where she met and married Rudy Thigpen in 1959. They moved to Colorado Springs, with their two children in 1975, where Rudy was a Mechanical Engineer with Wyle Laboratories. Alice was an active volunteer parent at Roosevelt Elementary, Emerson Jr. High, and Mitchell High. Additionally, Alice (aka Thiggy) was a proud member of The Crew at The Aspens. In the late 80's, Alice and Rudy moved back to Alabama. Her years in Colorado were the best of her life. In 2017, after Rudy passed away, Alice moved to live with her daughter in California. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Rudolph Thigpen; and her son, Morrison (Mo) Avery Thigpen. She is survived by her sister, Ann Morrison McGregor (Skeets) of Florence, Alabama; her daughter, Millie Allred (Steve) of Fremont, California, and her grandchildren, Jordan Claire and Joseph Sullivan Allred. He was a lifelong resident of Colorado and graduated from Harrison High School in 1978. Dallas married Gina Diana in June, 1984 and to this union they had two children, Adam and Leanda. This marriage ended in divorce but they remained friends as they raised their children together. In April, 1995, he met his long-term devoted love, Linda Browne. Dallas worked in the electrical field with most of those years proudly spent at CED/All-Phase Electric Supply serving as a quotations/project manager. He was respected and loved by many in the electrical field. Dallas is survived by his children, Adam (Amanda) Huscher and Leanda (Levi) Riffe; his granddaughters, Eleanor and Hajime Riffe and his multi-decade sweetheart, Linda Browne. Harold was born on June 11, 1921 to George and Florence (Kilp) Kohnen in Newport, Kentucky. He graduated from Georgetown College and married Jeanne B. Van Beeck in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Harold was fond of tennis. He also enjoyed travelling the world along with Jeanne. He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He served as a medic in the United States Army for four years. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Kohnen, and his son, Gerald Kohnen. Private services will be held and private entombment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Alcove of Mt. Olivet.
